"Christ makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy, growing, and full of love." – Ephesians 4:16 (NLT)
Have you ever watched something healthy grow—like a tree planted in good soil or a child learning to walk? It’s beautiful. It’s natural. It’s the way God designed life to work. And the same is true for His Church.
From the very beginning, God has been about growth. He filled the earth with life and told it to multiply. He made a promise to Abraham that his faith would bless the whole world. And then, in Jesus, that promise came to life—starting with a small band of disciples who stepped out in faith to share the Good News. That’s the story we’re still living. That’s why Calvary exists.
Our mission is clear: invite all to follow Jesus, engage all to grow in Him, and equip all to serve Him. And by God’s grace, we’re seeing it happen. More people are walking through our doors. Families are planting roots. Lives are being transformed. That’s growth—and it’s beautiful.
But as we grow, we face a challenge: we’re starting to outgrow the space we’ve been in. The building that once held our beginnings is now bursting at the seams. And like a fruit tree stuck in a plastic pot, we’ve reached the point where staying where we are is no longer healthy.
I recently brought home a young fruit tree. It came in a container just big enough to get it started. But to truly thrive, it needed to be set free—planted in open ground where its roots could go deep, its branches could stretch high, and its fruit could multiply. That’s where Calvary is right now.
This next step—a new building phase—is more than just brick and mortar. It’s an act of love for the people we already serve, and an investment in the people we haven’t met yet. It’s about creating space where the next generation can worship, grow, and discover God’s purpose for their lives.
Most of all, this is a step of faith. It’s a moment to trust that God, who has led us this far, will continue to grow His Church as we follow Him together.
So I’m asking you to pray. Ask the Lord what part He’s inviting you to play in our Grow Campaign. Whether it’s through giving, serving, or simply cheering others on—every act of faith matters. This isn’t my church, or yours—it’s His. And we want His blessing on every step we take.
Let’s plant deep. Let’s stretch high. Let’s bear much fruit—for His glory.
With gratitude and excitement,
Pastor Mark Widman
